Finnair appoints Kati Ihamäki new Vice President, Sustainable Development
Wed 16 Jan 2008 – As part of its quest to become the airline of choice for environmentally conscious passengers in intercontinental travel in the Northern Hemisphere, Finnair has appointed Kati Ihamäki as Vice President, Sustainable Development.
Previously Finnair’s Alliance Director for oneworld affairs and a member of the airline’s Environmental Organisation, she takes up her new position on February 1. Ihamäki will be the spokesperson for environmental affairs at Finnair Group and is tasked with ensuring that its environmental goals of becoming a leading airline in environmental activities are achieved. She is also responsible for the coordination of environmental strategy and emissions trade projects, as well as for integrating environmental issues into Finnair’s competitive strategy.
Finnair is a supporter of the International Air Transport Association’s target of emissions-free air travel.
